Os caminhos que a música faz para viajar e se imiscuir na nossa vida é por vezes curiosa e interessante. Lá pelos 2000s um colega gravou num cd um monte de músicas por ter uma internet decente. Dentre várias bandas que depois permaneceram com suas obras na minha vida, estava essa canção do The Hives, na verdade uma cover de Jerry Butler de autoria do próprio e de Curtis Mayfield (de People Get Ready, sucesso na voz de Rod Stewart). A versão dos rockeiros tinha uma guitarra muito parecida, bateria um pouco mais pesada, porém os vocais eram bem mais sujos para refletir a sonoridade dos caras. A história da canção, do jovem de coração partido, é universal, e encantadora. Lembrança de uma época que se mistura a canção e faz com que ao ouví-la quase que tenha um sabor. Então que ao pescar a música em versão ao vivo, não achei a do Hives, porém encontrei a original do Butler, com sua voz aveludada e cheia de vibrato como era padrão nos sei lá, 60 por aí.
